As an undergraduate at Spelman College, I majored in Comparative Women’s Studies with a concentration in women’s health to cultivate myself as a scholar that understood the importance and impact of public service. By combining my love for science and social issues, I discovered that I was passionate about learning how to approach medicine and healing from a holistic standpoint. My journey towards obtaining my Master's in Psychology and Education with a concentration in Spirituality and Mind-Body Practices at Teachers College, Columbia University, has been a transformative exploration of the intersections between psychology, technology, and holistic well-being. Through immersive practicums, I've harnessed the power of psychology to drive ethical entrepreneurship and foster self-understanding. Coupled with my foundation in Comparative Women's Studies, this unique blend of academic pursuits empowers me to shape technology and society harmoniously.
Empowering Holistic Well-Being
As someone who believes that knowledge rooted in the diversity of human culture and experience is paramount, I'm committed to supporting the well-being of marginalized communities. My approach to holistic health acknowledges the intricate connections between physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, shaped by individual social and cultural backgrounds. I envision a future where technology not only bridges gaps but also nurtures the growth of the self, both inside and out.
Driving Change Through Innovation
The intersection of technology and holistic health is where I thrive. Recognizing the impact of technology on our thoughts and mental well-being, I'm determined to be a pioneer in creating a digital space that uplifts and empowers users. I see technology as a tool to foster healthy connections, authentic self-expression, and personal realization, aligning with the ever-evolving needs of our modern society.
Unveiling the Path Ahead
My journey is rooted in a deep understanding of psychology, education, and the transformative potential of technology. Through the lens of Afrofuturism, I am intrigued by exploring how the intersection of technology, archetypal symbolism, and quantum physics can serve as a vehicle to bolster the psychospiritual growth and holistic well-being of women. Through my academic pursuits, hands-on experiences, and unwavering commitment, I'm prepared to contribute to the development of innovative platforms that align with my values and passion.
Today, I'm fortunate to be engaged in roles that resonate deeply with my commitment to holistic well-being and transformative change.
As the Founder and CEO of The Illuminated Mirror, my aim is to guide individuals on a journey of self-understanding, connecting with archetypal energies that empower growth within a collective community. Alongside, I have the privilege of serving as the Partnership Coordinator for the Spelman College Health Careers Program, where I work collaboratively to support students' aspirations for early assurance and pipeline programs, helping them gain acceptance into health professional schools with our valued partner institutions. Additionally, I contribute as Vice President to Yellow Heart Committee, a 501(c)(3) non-profit striving to foster holistic mental health among trauma survivors through thoughtful advocacy, education, and meaningful community endeavors.
